High Energy Electric, Inc. offers factory trained field representatives for Federal Pacific Electric (FPE), Allis-Chalmers (A-C), Siemens-Allis and Siemens products.  In addition, our technicians attend schools and seminars available to them from most manufacturers.   If we cannot locate an obsolete part or component, the device will be fabricated, to factory specifications, at one of our local machine shops.
Several of our recent projects included the reconditioning and retrofitting of a switchgear line-up  of GE type AE and AK circuit breakers.  The AK breakers were in very poor condition, some breakers were frozen in the closed position.  The units were complete disassembled and rebuilt, tested and installed.  Aside from a few short scheduled shutdowns, the customer did not lose any production time.  High Energy Electric, Inc. had provided spare circuit breakers that were interchanged as needed.  Another project undertaken this year was to perform the 10 year interval inspection on 3 Siemens type SP sulfur Hexaflouride SF6 breakers.  Our technicians evacuated the gas into an approved container, dismantled the switch and contact structure, cleaned and reassembled the unit.   Prior to reenergization, an A-C hipotential, a D-C insulation resistance and contact resistance tests were performed.  The circuit breaker was reenergized prior to our departure. High Energy Electric, Inc. maintains a large array of circuit breaker testing equipment.  Test currents range from .1 amp to 6,000 amps.  Testing can be performed at our facility or yours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Each piece of equipment is calibrated and traceable to NIST standards.
