Thermographic Surveys
High Energy Electric, Inc. offers the service of themographic surveys also known as infrared scanning. Infrared scanning of electrical devices is used to spot temperature increases due to excessive resistance, loose connections, overloading and/or current imbalances. Used along with a preventative maintenance program, thermographic surveys help keep potential power failures to a minimum and can prevent serious equipment failure and damage. High Energy uses a Mikron infrared camera. This system detects electromagnetic radiation at a frequency below the red range of the visible spectrum. This electromagnetic radiation of infrared frequency is emitted from all objects at ordinary temperatures. Different objects give off varying amounts of infrared, depending on the temperature and emissivity. Nightsight was designed to sense differing amounts of infrared and display them through the camera.
